Craig83 52
Think of the support Daystate offer, iv never fired a Rapid in all honesty but I do know as a hunting tool my MK4 is hard to top. Especially for shot to shot accuracy. 1 Quote Link to post

Daz 7 563
Rapid hands down unless You like wearing Gaystate Pink gloves and a Choir boy outfit with a centre parting eh Aaron!!!!!! The Mighty Rapid in all it's Glory 3 Quote Link to post
secretagentmole 1,701
The Rapid is well supported, probably more affordably supported by the likes of KevG and Buster's friend PhilD I think it is. Daystate servicing is notoriously expensive, whereas for a full service on my Mark 1, including power adjustment, new valve, hammer pip etc, £90! Value I think! Craig83 52
Daystate servicing is expensive granted. But buy from theairguncentre in Essex and you get servicing free for life. But Daystates technology you can't dispute still one of the most accurate air rifles on the market. Other than the normal HFT dedicated rifles. Call it gay or what ever you like, it's still one of the best out there. Keep the MK4 I say. Buy British, help the economy and hold something a little bit special in your collection 1 Quote Link to post

Craig83 52
I strongly disagree... The Mk4 has a electronically managed regulator calculating precise pressures and air release each time it fires. Reducing the power curve effect that guns not like it produce. Each shot is as accurate as the next. Also there is the the lock time, the point in which the trigger is pulled to the pellet being fired. Because of the electronic trigger this is almost instant. Reducing the risk of a pulled shot again increasing the accuracy. Also a match grade barrel, improves the run of the pellet as it leaves the barrel. Iv owned a BSA Ultra before as a dedicated squirrel gun, and quickly got rid as it just wasn't up to the job as the quota I need to shoot. I moved to a HW100 KT, beautiful rifle and very accurate, still wasn't a MK4 accurate. Granted, value for money....I can justify the £2k I spent on my set up purely on the amount of hunting I do. And it's a lot. But i can't accept that it's as accurate as a Ultra or the big names in the industry would all be using them. I take my air gun hunting very seriously, and travel all over the world (out to California in April hunting Coyote and Feral boar with my wolverine) and I think (I may be wrong) I tried everything but for me the MK4 is the best in it's class. 12ft/lb or FAC 1. Daystate MK4 2. Theoben MFR 3. Air Ranger 4. HW100 5. FX Royale 1 Quote Link to post

FX Royale I can put 5 pellets on top of each other at 40 yards with a BSA ultra .177 m/s with a pulsar n550nv ,witnessed by several people and you are telling me a Daystate will do better!! I don't think so . we all take our shooting seriously ether HFT ,Targets or hunting and we all like different guns and like I stated before, most are accurate as each other ,at the end of the day we are the weakest link ,so good by 1 Quote Link to post

Pink or stink 162
There is no doubt that the advances Daystate make are pioneering and made to aid accuracy as long as the shooter does their part. However, many achieve this accuracy with non-electronic equipment all the time. I very recently got a new MK4IS I have to admit on the hearsay of such superb engineering and technology. I can say here that the engineering was mediocre at best. The action had play between the stock so would "clack" when I slung it around. The magazine produced inferior (very) groups compared with the single-shot tray. The single shot tray, when removed) would shell itself of one of the round locating lugs. The trigger was very good, there's no doubt about it. I sold it last Saturday to fund the new HW100T. That is a better gun than the MK4 on an engineering level by some margin. It's just as accurate as any PCP I have ever owned and it does it without any fuss or concern as to what can go wrong. The Ultra is a cracker but the trigger cannot be compared with the MK4, but it's barrel makes up for a lot. In my opinion the MK4 is a great gun but around £400 more than it ought to be. 1 Quote Link to post
